I had hoped to make other improvements before sharing it but I’m running out of time and have embraced « perfect is the enemy of good » especially since the timeframe to backup chats is shrinking due to Facebook’s May 15th deadline. WhatSoup is a web scraper that exports your entire WhatsApp chat history to plaintext, CSV, or HTML formats. The appearance and features are very similar or could even be said to be the same as my previous WhatsApp desktop.

No “add me” posts

Hey all, I’m using the web desktop version of Whatsapp quite a lot, and since yesterday I noticed that I can no longer send people links. I can still do that though the phone if it’s really needed, but that’s a bit of a hassle. What I noticed though is, that when the desktop version crashed my phone still tried to connect to the macbook in terms of linked devices and I ended up having 4 connections from the same macbook pro so keep an eye out… I have automatic updates and check for updates unticked in my macbook pro / Big Sur 2013.

Why does Whatsapp Web Application take so long to load, and log me out if I am inactive for an hour?

Anyone posting this can’t be helped, and it invites scammers to this community who pretend they can help. No posts trying to share or solicit methods for exposing the privacy of others. Mods are not official representatives of WhatsApp and cannot take actions on behalf of WhatsApp. As a result, any post which requires an action to be taken by WhatsApp itself towards a specific account is not allowed. Discussions about WhatsApp policies in general are still allowed. Sticker apps are ok, as long as the sticker apps aren’t malicious apps.

No linking to third party apps like « WhatsApp hack » style apps. No linking to apps which violate other users privacy (e.g. online status tracker apps). Seriously, rolling out new features without any notes, expecting people to know how to use it is just lazy.

I had the same problem after updating the Mac software. Just downloaded FreeChat for Mac and seems to be working exactly as the WhatsApp Desktop version I previously had. This subreddit is for discussion about WhatsApp, including general questions, updates, and support.

Why is WhatsApp web cropped, small and centered in the middle of the page?

• The appearance and features are very similar or could even be said to be the same as my previous WhatsApp desktop.
• Works a treat and doesn’t use as much CPU/resources as the app so depending on the browser you’re using, I’d rather go for this option.
• It looks small and centered in the middle of the screen, when it used to be displayed fullscreen.
• I’ve downloaded an older version of WhatsApp – still when i try to start the app it checks for updates and won’t load.

You now manually have to click on the video to watch it in order for the download button to re-appear then go back into the media files to be able to download it. For example, I know about starred messages and disappearing chats, but I’m sure there are a lot more features that I (and many others) don’t know about. Hi, I just upgraded my monitor (from a 19 » 900p to a 24 » 1080p) and when I opened Whatsapp Web, this happens. It looks small and centered in the middle of the screen, when it used to be displayed fullscreen. I’m pretty sure it’s because this new monitor, but all the other apps and sites look fine.

No posts eroding the privacy of others

I’m on Chrome but I also opened the site in Firefox and the issue persists. No posts or comments asking for people to join your group or channel through a link or code. Please no “add me” or “join my group” posts, this sub is for sharing news and solving problems or questions you might have. I have been using WhatsApp for years, but I feel like most of us only use the basic features such as chats, groups, and calls. Recently, I heard that there are many hidden tricks and lesser-known features in WhatsApp that can actually save time, improve privacy, or make chatting more fun. It’s a pretty standard web scraper and uses Selenium/BeautifulSoup.

It worked for a bit but then it crashed again so I decided to use Opera’s Whatsapp sidebar feature since the browser is open anyway. Works a treat and doesn’t use as much CPU/resources as the app so depending on the browser you’re using, I’d rather go for this option. Otherwise some screenshots that apparently we have switch to the whatsappweb but for now I’ll stick to the old release… If you don’t have a backup and delete something from WhatsApp it’s not possible to recover it.

I’ve downloaded an older version of WhatsApp – still when i state of oregon try to start the app it checks for updates and won’t load. R/whatsapp is home to the online messaging platform owned by Meta. News, updates and general discussions about the app can be posted here. It seems that while older versions of WhatsApp can be downloaded and installed, when activated, the program automatically looks for the latest update and there’s no way to stop it doing that. Everytime I click on a chat I can download all the pictures but as soon as I click on a video the download button disappears. This problem just started happening earlier this month.
